How to Locate Items in the Library
The Doris Padgett Public Library Catalog can help you quickly locate books, movies and audio books. The catalog record will indicate exactly where an item is shelved in the library. Location Information directs you to the area of the library where the item is shelved (Call Number), its barcode number and if it is available for checkout.
* If an item is available for check out, it will be indicated by "IN." You may click on [Reserve This Item] to hold it for you for immediate pickup. When you click on [Reserve This Item] the catalog will immediately take you to the Log On page, and you will be asked to enter your username/barcode and PIN.
* If an item is not available for check out, it will be indicated by "OUT (due back on year-month-day)." You may either check back later to see if it has been returned or you may want to reserve it by clicking on [Reserve This Item]. The catalog will immediately take you to the Log On page, and you will be asked to enter your username/barcode and PIN. After you have reserved an item, the catalog will tell you if you are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.. in queue for that item. When the item is returned to the Library, you will be notified by email it is ready for pickup.
Always remember when searching by Title to disregard the articles A, An or The at the beginning of the Title.
