Library Cards

Library Cards are available free of charge to all U.S. citizens and legal aliens who reside in the state of Texas.  Your library card can be used to check out books, DVDs. videocassettes, music CDs, audiobooks and periodicals.

TexShare Card Program

Allows Sunnyvale Public Library card holders to borrow materials directly from other libraries who participate in the program.

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows Sunnyvale Public Library card holders access to materials that are not available from the Library's collection.

Book Drop

Library books can be returned 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Videocassettes, audio tapes and certain books cannot be returned to the book drop, as doing so may damage those materials.  Library materials that cannot be returned to the book drop are marked accordingly.

Computer Workstations

Six computers with high-speed internet access are provided for one hour use, longer is no one else is waiting.  A valid Sunnyvale Library Card free of fines and fees is required.  Children under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult.  Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Publisher, DVD burner and USB jump drives are available on all six computers.  Printouts are $.25 per page for black ink only and $.50 per page for those that include color in any amount.

Wireless Internet Access

The Library offers free wireless internet access.  The Library's wireless network utilizes the WiFi standard.  Most users can simply bring their wireless ready laptops or other wireless device into the Library and turn it on.  The computer will automatically access the wireless network.  No printer services are available.


Copies letter (81/2" x 11") or legal (81/2" x 14")  or ledger (11" x 17") size documents at a cost of $.25 a page.


The Library currently subscribes to over 50 magazines and newsletters.


The Library currently subscribes to the The Dallas Morning News, The Mesquite News, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.

Telephone Reference

Librarians will answer questions over the phone that require short, readily available factual information that does not require extensive searching or lengthy reading.

Fax Services

Patrons can send and receive faxes.  The cost of sending a fax is $1.00 per page for a local fax number, and $1.50 per page for a long distance number.  The cost of receiving a fax at the Library is $.50 per page.

Reading Lists

The Library displays the latest bestsellers list and has available the school's Accelerated Reader (AR) lists by title, author and reading level.

Government Documents

The Library has tax forms for the last 8 years.
